CLAIRE AVERY

Claire, raised as a Tar Heel in Chapel Hill, North Carolina is receiving a BFA in Jewelry and Objects at Savannah College of Art and Design in August 2013. In the Spring graduation ceremony, Claire was awarded Summa Cum Laude as well as the Outstanding Achievement Award. Her growth as an artist is a result of not only the education but also to many career opportunities. An internship at William Travis Jewelry, during the summer of 2011, provided a an opportunity to learn about the retail side of owning and managing a custom jewelry business.

In March 2013, Claire traveled to Atlanta, GA for SJTA in Atlanta, GA where she was awarded First Place in the Ring competition, judged by Nak Armstrong as well as others. In May, Claire and two fellow seniors hosted an exhibition at Le Snoot Gallery in Savannah, GA.  The exhibition, Elemental is a collection of work, from concept to complete fabrication, to installation, and marketing.

Claire looks forward to a bright future as a jewelry artist, collaborating with other artists, and exhibiting in galleries.  She hopes others will connect with and love her work as much as she loved creating it.
